Request help with photo restoration, photograph preservation, archive support, digitisation planning or a wider photographic collection. Past2Perfect UK is based in the United Kingdom, with remote assessment available for clients outside the UK.

Remote assessment

UK-based, with remote assessment available outside the UK

Past2Perfect UK is based in the United Kingdom, but many photo restoration, photograph preservation and archive support enquiries can begin remotely. Clients outside the UK can send scans, clear photographs or representative images of a wider collection for an initial assessment.

This allows the condition, scope and likely next steps to be considered before deciding whether restoration, preservation guidance, archive support or any physical handling of original material is appropriate.

Where original photographs may need to be posted, reviewed in person or handled physically, this is discussed separately so that the risks, practicalities, costs and options are clear before any work begins.

Tell me about your photograph or collection

Use the form below for restoration enquiries, preservation advice, archive support, collection assessment or digitisation planning. A scan or clear phone photo is helpful for individual photographs, while wider collection enquiries can begin with a short description and a few representative images.

Most image formats are accepted, including photographs taken on iPhones. If upload is unavailable, you can email your photograph directly to hello@past2perfect.co.uk.

How enquiries are handled

Every enquiry begins with an initial assessment. This may involve reviewing a single photograph, discussing a larger collection, considering preservation concerns, restoring photographs, or exploring archive organisation and digitisation requirements.

Following assessment, you will receive clear guidance on the options available together with a quotation where work is recommended. No work begins until the proposed scope of work has been agreed.

For restoration projects, a fixed quotation and expected turnaround will be provided before work begins. For archive support, collection consultancy and larger projects, recommendations and costs may be provided in stages depending on the size and complexity of the collection.

For work under £150, full payment is normally required before work begins. For projects of £150 and above, a 50% deposit may be requested with the remaining balance due before final delivery.

Payment can be made by UK bank transfer, PayPal or secure invoice link. International clients are responsible for any bank charges, transfer fees or currency conversion costs.

Providing photographs and collection information

For individual photograph enquiries, a clean scan is ideal, although a clear phone photograph is usually sufficient for an initial assessment.

For collection enquiries, it is often helpful to provide a brief description of the collection together with a few representative photographs showing the types of materials involved, current storage arrangements and any areas of concern.

For remote assessment outside the UK, please avoid posting original material until the condition, scope and practical options have been discussed first.

Clear images and background information help provide more accurate guidance and recommendations.

What you will receive

Every enquiry receives an individual assessment and recommendations based on your specific requirements.

Depending on the project, this may include restoration recommendations, preservation advice, collection assessment, archive organisation guidance, digitisation planning or photographic collection consultancy support.

Where restoration work is undertaken, completed images are supplied as high-quality digital files suitable for printing, sharing or archiving.

Frequently asked questions

Can I start with a phone photo or collection description?

Yes. A clear phone photograph is usually sufficient for an initial assessment of an individual image. For larger collections, a brief description and a small selection of representative photographs are often enough to begin the discussion.

I have a large collection rather than a single photograph. Can you still help?

Yes. Past2Perfect UK supports collections of all sizes, from small family albums to larger photographic archives. Assistance may include collection assessment, organisation, preservation planning, digitisation guidance and photographic collection consultancy.

Can badly damaged photographs still be improved?

Often, yes. Tears, creases, fading, stains and missing areas can frequently be improved significantly, although some missing detail may need to be reconstructed rather than fully recovered.

Will I receive a quote before any work begins?

Yes. Where chargeable work is recommended, a clear quotation will be provided before any work begins.

Do you work with clients outside the UK?

Yes. Past2Perfect UK is based in the United Kingdom, but remote assessment is available for clients outside the UK. Many enquiries can begin with scans, clear photographs or representative images before deciding whether further restoration, preservation guidance or archive support is appropriate.

Should I post original photographs from outside the UK?

Do not post original photographs before the enquiry has been assessed. If physical material ever needs to be sent or reviewed, the risks, practicalities, costs and options should be discussed first.

What if I am not sure what help I need?

That is normal. Many enquiries begin with uncertainty about the best way forward. An initial discussion can help identify the most appropriate next steps, whether that involves restoration, preservation, organisation, digitisation or wider collection management support.
